Garden Maintenance

We look after gardens as well as build them. Lawn mowing, precision hedge trimming, border weeding and seasonal pruning, delivered on flexible, year-round maintenance schedules or as one-off visits.

01

Lawn mowing

Regular cuts through the growing season to keep the lawn even, healthy and tidy at the edges.

02

Precision hedge trimming

Hedges cut back to a clean, even line and shaped to suit the garden, with the clippings cleared away.

03

Border weeding and seasonal pruning

Borders kept clear of weeds and shrubs pruned at the right time of year, so the planting stays in shape.

04

Scheduled or one-off visits

Choose a flexible year-round schedule or book a single visit. Tree surgery is available through one of our commercial partners.

Turf Laying & Artificial Grass

A lawn is only as good as what sits under it. We strip the old ground out, correct the levels and build the base, then lay fresh turf or install artificial grass on top of it. Both finishes are quoted the same way.

01Lawn preparation and levels

Old turf, roots and rubble come out, the ground is rotavated and graded to fall away from the house, then topped with screened topsoil and consolidated.

02Fresh turf laying

Cultivated turf delivered the morning it is laid, butted tight with staggered joints, rolled and cut to the borders. Watering instructions for the first three weeks are handed over on the day.

03Artificial grass installation

Excavated to depth, laid on a compacted stone and grano base with a weed membrane, joined with tape and adhesive rather than pins down the middle, then sand dressed and brushed.

04Edges, borders and drainage

Timber, steel or paved edging to hold the lawn line, plus soakaways or drainage where the garden holds water. Artificial grass is laid on a free draining base, never on bare clay.

Thinking about the whole garden?

Send us the plot and roughly what you want out of it. We survey, draw it and price it, at no cost.

Timber & Composite Decking

Decks are framed, not floated. We set the posts, build the subframe to the right centres and only then lay the boards, so the finished deck stays level and quiet underfoot for the whole of its life.

Composite decking systems

Capped composite boards on a hidden fixing system, so there are no screw heads on the surface. No annual staining, no splinters, and a colour that holds through a Hampshire winter.

Timber decks

Pressure treated softwood or hardwood boards on a treated subframe at 400mm centres, with the frame sat on concrete pads or posts rather than straight on the soil.

Steps and balustrades

Steps set to an even rise, plus balustrades, spindles or glass panels where the deck is raised. Handrails are fixed through the frame, not into the board ends.
